Students can apply for an Erasmus traineeship grant to complete a voluntary or mandatory traineeship that is part of their studies. The traineeship must be approved by the academic department/school. Erasmus+ traineeships can take place in companies as well as private and public organisations, but not in the EU organisations or organisations that manage EU programmes. Additional information on the Erasmus+ programme is available at UEF International Mobility Services and the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI).
For whom: Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral level students of all fields.
When: From the first year of studies.
Where: Students should arrange the traineeship directly with the organisation, which must be established in a country participating in the programme:
EU Member States (not Finland) and Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey.
Duration: 2 to 12 months.
Application period: After the start of the application period, applications will be accepted for as long as there are traineeship grants available. Students can apply for a traineeship grant after they have confirmed their traineeship. The application should be submitted in good time (at least one month) before the start of the traineeship. The application is submitted via the online application system SoleMOVE. For more information, see the Applications section.
Funding: The grant is EUR 480/540 per month (academic year 2019-2020) and will be paid for a maximum of 4 months. The precise amount is determined by the duration of the traineeship and the host country. The training position must be full-time. Persons with special needs due to their physical or mental condition and persons with underage children can apply for additional support.
Please note: An Erasmus+ traineeship agreement must be signed before the start of the traineeship. The Erasmus+ traineeship grant is the primary form of support used for traineeships in Europe. The students must take an online language test before and after the traineeship.
For the same period, you cannot get two mobility scholarships from International Mobility Services or Student and Learning Services. For example, if you are granted a mobility scholarship for your exchange period from International Mobility Services, you cannot get an Erasmus+ traineeship grant for the same period. It is allowed to accept scholarships from other parties such as foundations for the same mobility period. Please contact International Mobility Services, if you have any questions related to mobility grants.
