Office 365

New apps and tools are constantly added to the Microsoft Office 365 environment. A list of tools is provided in the app launcher’s ‘All apps’ link.

At UEF, IT Services and Oppari offer support for using the following basic tools, but you may of course also use any of the tools included in the menu that you find useful independently.

Yammer

UEF’s Yammer is a private social network through which you can stay in contact with other UEF people, share information between groups, and organise projects. Yammer groups are utilised by study communities but also during courses.

Read more on What is Yammer?

Delve

Delve is a discovery tool that can be used to find, for example, the contact details of UEF people and documents to which you have access rights, such as your own documents in OneDrive, documents shared with you, public documents related to the news published in Heimo, documents of SharePoint groups that you belong to, and service-related documents in Heimo. Read more about Delve.

OneDrive

Your own, personal storage space (5 TB). You can share files with other UEF people, with edit rights or read-only rights. You can also share documents with persons outside the organisation.

SharePoint

All the workspaces that you belong to are in SharePoint, and you can also see workspaces that are open to everyone. You can also create a workspace for a team if you need a place where you can organise content, data and news, and share these among the team.

OneNote

OneNote is a digital notebook for making personal notes.

Office tools

The Office 365 environment also includes familiar Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) that enable editing documents quickly on the web browser without having to install the complete Office suite on your computer. Files will be stored automatically and you can use, edit and share the newest version also when you are on the move.
As a student, if you have registered as present at the university, you can install Office on five terminals.

  1. Log in to the Office 365 service with your UEF username and password.
  2. In the upper left corner, click on ‘Office 365’.
  3. In the upper right corner, there is a bar ‘Install Office applications’. Continue according to the instructions.
