The Oodi system is a student and study register that supports studies and teaching. Oodi has different interfaces for different user categories. The student interface is WebOodi, which is also available in English.
WebOodi requires a username and a password which students get when they start their studies at the University of Eastern Finland. The system allows students to:
- change their contact information,
- view the record of their completed studies,
- browse current schedules and descriptions of courses,
- register for courses and exams,
- register for semesters (only if previously registered).
- browse study guides
- make your personal study plan (PSP)
- get your transcript of records
Information about courses can be, however, accessed before logging in (e.g. browse course descriptions and schedules).
Changing your personal information to the register
You can update your personal and contact information (address, phonenumber, town) in WebOodi.
When you change your contact information in WebOodi, make sure that all contact details both in Finland and in your home country remain in the system. All students must have their UEF email address as their primary email address. If you wish to use another email address instead, you can forward emails from the UEF address to another mailbox. Please also make sure that both of your addresses (in Finland and in your home country) are visible in WebOodi. If there are any technical problems with WebOodi, please contact the WebOodi support by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can also change your disclosure information. For any changes you can also contact Student and Learning Services
You cannot change your name or add your Finnish personal identity number to the register yourself, you need to contact the Student and Learning Services. Remember to include your student number or date birth to your email so that you can be found in the register. You also need to present your passport, driver’s license or other official ID. You can also do this via email. Ask the Student and Learning Services how to send encrypted email. Never send your Finnish personal identity code via open email, but as the Student and Learning Services how to send encrypted email.

The university is obliged by law to disclose personal data from the student information system to various authorities on a regular basis. The university also discloses personal data for the purposes of scientific or historical research or it can be disclosed from the student register to associations and organisations which can be regarded as promoting the interests of students.
