1. Use AI to support your learning
You may use AI to support your learning and to help you prepare your coursework in accordance with the university’s AI policy, unless your teacher has specifically restricted or prohibited its use.
2. AI and academic dishonesty
Always state in writing which AI application you used and how you used it when preparing your coursework. This also applies to theses. You must not use AI to write the abstract. The use of AI in a thesis must be described in accordance with the UEF AI policy.
Your teacher may prohibit the use of AI systems or services by issuing a written notice at the beginning of a course. Using AI against the instructions given on the course is considered academic misconduct and will be handled in the same way as other cases of academic dishonesty.
3. You are responsible for your own work
You are always responsible for the content, quality and accuracy of your coursework, including when you use AI. Always verify information produced by AI, as it may contain errors or fabricated information.
4. Use the solutions provided by the university
UEF recommends using Microsoft Copilot with your UEF login. If you use other AI services, you are responsible for complying with the terms of use and for data protection.
5. Protect personal data and confidential information
Do not enter personal data or any confidential material into AI services outside the university.
6. Respect copyright
Do not input material into AI tools if you do not hold the copyright or do not have permission to use it. Copyright for AI-generated works does not always belong to the user of the AI service. AI also cannot be named as the author of a work, because the person who produced the material — that is, you — is always responsible for its accuracy.
7. Use lecture recordings responsibly
You must always inform others in the teaching situation if you are recording a public lecture, regardless of the recording device. You must not share recordings with others, publish them online or make copies of them.
8. Use AI responsibly and with consideration
AI is a tool, not a substitute for competence. Use it to support your learning, brainstorming and organising information in a way that develops your own skills and learning.
