A traineeship abroad supports your studies and develops your professional skills for international careers. During a traineeship, you can gain work experience, explore the culture of the host country, build contacts and improve your language skills.
The traineeship must be related to your major or minor subject. You arrange your traineeship placement yourself.
Funding for your traineeship:
Europe: You apply primarily for the Erasmus+ traineeship grant from International Mobility Services. Read more on the Erasmus+ traineeship page.
Countries outside Europe: You apply for UEF international traineeship support from your faculty. Read more on the International traineeship support page.

- Your study programme’s traineeship contact person: A number of UEF departments have established traineeship contacts with organisations abroad – ask the traineeship contact person for your study field for more details. You can check who is the contact at your subject from the study community for your field.

Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI) traineeship programmes
EDUFI offers traineeship placements around the world. The programme is open to Bachelor’s and Master’s level students and recent graduates (maximum one year after graduation).
EDUFI traineeship criteria includes Finnish citizenship or permanent residence in Finland.

Available traineeships vary each year. Traineeships may be available in organisations such as:
- Finnish embassies abroad,
