Ethical guidelines for studying
As a university student, you are part of an academic community built on trust, equality and collaboration. You are expected to be committed to ethical conduct in all aspects of your studies.
In practice, this means that you:
• follow the principles of responsible conduct of research in all your academic work – for example, in theses, essays and examinations
• respect the teaching and research work of your teachers
• contribute to a positive learning and working environment.
Your main goal as a student is to learn and achieve your learning objectives. You are personally responsible for acting honestly and ethically.

Use of artificial intelligence in studies
The University of Eastern Finland has an AI policy that applies to both staff and students. You can use artificial intelligence to support your studies, but you are always personally responsible for the content and quality of your academic work.
