Last modified: 05.05.2026
PrintAs a doctoral researcher at the University of Eastern Finland, you can also complete studies at other Finnish universities. There are two options available: the Flexible Cooperation in Doctoral Education (Tohtori+) and the doctoralcourses.fi website.
In addition, doctoral researchers from other Finnish universities can complete studies at the University of Eastern Finland.
Flexible cooperation in doctoral education (Tohtori+)
You can apply for a fixed-term study right to courses at other universities and include them in your degree. The studies are free of charge for you.
Through the Flexible Cooperation scheme (Tohtori+), you can participate in, for example, specialised courses that are essential to your research but not available at the University of Eastern Finland. This allows you to build an individual study path and strengthen your expertise.
The Tohtori+ agreement includes the University of Eastern Finland as well as Aalto University, the University of Helsinki, the University of Lapland, the University of Oulu, Hanken School of Economics, the University of the Arts Helsinki, the University of Turku, the University of Vaasa and Åbo Akademi University.
