UEF Language Centre offers language and communication studies for undergraduate, postgraduate, and international exchange students as well as staff members. In Language Centre courses, you will learn versatile skills and knowledge that you will need during your studies and in working life. You will also gain tools to develop your skills further in the future.
For degree students (Bachelor, Master, and PhD), we offer courses in English and Finnish. Degree students register for courses in Peppi through their personal study plan. For course catalogue and registration, see Peppi.

Finnish 1A is open for exchange students. International exchange students can also participate in other Finnish courses if there is room in the group. International students studying in Bachelor’s degree programmes taught in English study both Finnish and English courses according to their personal study plan. Please see Language Centre study community for further details.
In general, Finnish language studies are required for international Master’s degree programmes (new curriculum 2022–2025).
We also offer English academic communication courses that are specific to certain programmes or Schools and some of which are a mandatory part of the degree.
Our selection of optional courses also includes courses especially aimed at Master’s students.
