Become an actor or a mentor
Mentoring is an interactive process that aims, principally, at professional development of the person being mentored (actor). Traditionally, mentoring has been about passing tacit knowledge from a more experienced professional to a younger colleague. After graduating, it is advisable to join a mentoring programme as an actor. Later in your career, you can share your experience as a mentor. As an actor, you can get a vantage point into working life in discussions with an older colleague. As a mentor, it is rewarding to support others and develop one’s own communication and leadership skills.
Many organizations provide mentoring programs.
Trade unions’ mentoring programmes
Many trade unions offer mentoring programmes, where you can obtain yourself a mentor or act as one. Find out actor/mentorship possibilities on the website of your trade union.
