PrintMicrosoft 365 gives you access to your student email, file storage and sharing, and tools for collaborative work. You can use the services in a browser, with desktop applications, and on mobile devices.
Logging in to Microsoft 365
Go to: https://m365.cloud.microsoft/ (login required).
- Enter your username in the format [email protected].
- The service will redirect you to the correct login environment.
- Write your password.
- Verify your login with multi-factor authentication (MFA) if requested. For more information, visit the Digital Services page.
- Continue by clicking Sign in.
If you cannot log in
- Make sure you are entering your username in the format [email protected].
- If another Microsoft account is already signed in on your browser (e.g. an outlook.com, hotmail.com, or work account), you may not be able to log in with your UEF user account. Try using a private browsing window or a different browser.
Key services for students
You can find all Microsoft 365 services, depending on your view, either from:
- the Apps menu in the bottom left corner, or
- the app launcher in the top left corner (the ”waffel” icon, nine dots).
This page only covers the most essential services, but you can use any application available to you.
Outlook (email and calendar)
Your email inbox is created automatically.
- Your student email address is in the format [email protected].
- However, you log in to Microsoft 365 with your username in the format [email protected].
You can use your email in a browser or with an email client on your computer and mobile devices.
Note about using your email
- Your university email address is the primary address for UEF’s internal communication and services.
- Do not use your university email for commercial or political purposes.
- Avoid using your student email to sign up for external services, as your email access is temporary and will end when your study right expires.
Email forwarding
- You can set up forwarding from your student email to a personal email address.
- If you are also a UEF staff member, you must not enable email forwarding.
- The university is not responsible for the successful delivery of forwarded messages.

OneDrive (personal cloud storage)
OneDrive is your personal cloud storage space (100 GB). In OneDrive, you can:
- Save and access files across different devices.
- Share files with other UEF users with editing or viewing rights.
- Share files with people outside UEF.
Remember data protection: not all data may be stored in cloud services. Check the guidelines on the UEF Intra page Information security (login required) → Instructions for processing information.
OneDrive basics
- Logging in: use OneDrive in your browser through Microsoft 365 or install the OneDrive application.
- Offline use: you can access files without an internet connection using the OneDrive application. Changes will sync when the connection is restored.
- Sharing: select a file or folder → Share → set who has access to the link and whether the file can be edited.
- Restoring files: you can restore a previous version of a file from the version history. You can also restore your entire OneDrive contents from the last 30 days (Restore OneDrive) to a date of your choice. Note that restoring will remove all changes made after the selected date.
Teams
In Teams, you can communicate and collaborate with different groups.

Viva Engage
Viva Engage is UEF’s internal communication channel where you can follow current topics and join discussions.
Make sure to follow at least these channels:
- Digipalvelut // Digital services (login required).
- UEF Opiskelijat // UEF students (login required).
- UEF Intran uutiset // UEF Intranet News (login required).
Office applications for your own devices
You can install Office applications on up to five devices. Please consider the information security in regard of using the UEF account in Office applications on devices that have multiple users.

Office tools in the browser
You can use all Office applications in your browser. When you edit files in the browser, they are saved automatically, and the latest version is always available to you.
