You can get help with IT services from the UEF Digital Services IT Servicedesk. The service is available to students, staff and visitors.
UEF user account and passwords
You can find information about your UEF user account and passwords on the Digital Services pages (link opens in new tab).
IT Servicedesk contact details and service channels
You can find all contact channels and opening hours of the IT servicedesk on the Digital Services pages (link opens in new tab).
In addition to IT matters, other units such as Student and Learning Services also provide support and guidance. The easiest way to find the right contact or service channel is through UEF e-Services (link opens in new tab, UEF login required; see also below).
UEF e-Services
UEF e-Services (link opens in new tab) is an online service where you can log in with your UEF user account to fill in various applications. In addition, you can:
- apply for additional access rights for your account
- change your password
- order a software licence
- apply for a degree certificate for your doctoral degree
- register as a researcher, which gives you access to researcher disk space.
UEF Data Support
UEF Data Support offers services and training to support university researchers in managing their research data at different stages of the research process.
UEF Data Support offers:
- services for managing, opening and ensuring the long-term availability of research data
- disk space and scientific computing services
- training and support services.

Library services
The library provides workspaces and a range of services for researchers (link opens in new tab). Read more in the new customer guide (link opens in new tab).
eLearning support services
At the Oppari service desk, you can get information about computers and software, among other things. You can find Oppari’s opening hours and detailed service descriptions in Kamu.
If you work as a teacher at UEF, you can get pedagogical and technical support for using information and communication technology and social media in teaching from Oppitupa.

Student and Learning Services customer service
The Student and Learning Services customer service desk offers, for example:
- further information about annual registration and study rights
- student certificates and transcripts of academic records.
The shared service number for Joensuu and Kuopio is +358 29 445 8900, and the email address is opiskelu(at)uef.fi.
The customer service desk is located:
- in Joensuu on the 1st floor of the Aurora building (Yliopistokatu 2)
- in Kuopio on the 2nd floor of the Canthia building (Yliopistonrinne 3).

International Mobility Services
International Mobility Services can provide you with support and guidance on matters such as Erasmus+ traineeships, and teacher and staff exchanges.
