The University of Eastern Finland hosts a joint graduation ceremony once a year, usually in May.

Who is the graduation ceremony for?
You can attend the graduation ceremony if you have graduated or are about to graduate during the academic year (1 August – 31 July). The ceremony is open to all degree students – whether you are completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or a doctoral or licentiate degree.
What happens at the graduation ceremony?
The ceremony includes speeches, music, a flower ceremony for graduates and a coffee reception. The event begins with a shared session for both campuses, after which the celebrations continue separately on each campus.
You can invite two guests to join you on campus. The event can also be followed remotely online.
How to register?
Registration for the graduation ceremony opens in April. You will be notified when registration opens in the UEF Opiskelijat//UEF Students community in Viva Engage – make sure to follow the channel!

Arriving on campus
Please arrive on campus in good time. The ceremony lasts approximately 3 hours. You can find information about campus facilities and parking on the campus pages:

You are free to choose your seat in the hall. However, if you are graduating, we ask that you sit near the front so that you can easily come forward for the flower presentation.
Please dress in a manner appropriate to the festive nature of the occasion (smart casual).
Flower presentation for graduates
Graduates are called forward by faculty. The host will call registered graduates to the front of the hall by name for the flower presentation. Afterwards, the graduates remain at the front of the hall briefly for a round of applause and photographs.
Coffee reception and photographs
A coffee reception is held in the lobby for registered participants. In the lobby, you will also find the graduation photo wall, where you can capture the moment with your loved ones.
