Exchange application guidance
Do you need help with your exchange application? At the exchange application guidance sessions, an International Mobility Services coordinator will answer your questions and help you with the SoleMOVE application system.
Exchange application guidance is available during the application periods in November and February. If you need help during the supplementary application period, please contact: [email protected].
International Week
International Week is organised annually in October and January. The schedule will be published on this page and in the Viva Engage group Internationalisation offers for students.
Online sessions will be recorded. Recordings will be available for viewing for two weeks after each session.
Pre-departure orientations
A pre-departure orientation is organised for all exchange students to go through practical matters related to your exchange. Pre-departure orientations are held:
- At the end of the spring semester for students going on exchange during the following academic year
- In November for students going on exchange during the spring semester
The next pre-departure orientations will be held on Teams for exchanges starting in autumn 2026. The sessions will be recorded, and links will be sent to participants by email.
Pre-departure orientations for autumn 2026 exchanges:
- Session in Finnish on Monday, 4 May, 4:00-6:00 PM.
- Session in English on Thursday, 7 May, 4:00-6:00PM.
Invitations have been sent by email to all students going abroad during autumn 2026 – if you are going on exchange next autumn, check your email!
Good to know:
- All sessions start on the hour.
- Sessions may end earlier than scheduled if all matters have been covered.
- The sessions also cover exchange programme-specific topics – follow the instructions sent to you.

Post-exchange orientation
A post-exchange orientation is organised for students returning from exchange. At the orientation, you can meet other students who have been on exchange and share your experiences. UEF Career Services will also be there to help you articulate your international experience and make the most of it in the future.
Exchange info sessions
International Mobility Services organises general exchange info sessions open to all students during the academic year. Sessions are usually held online via Zoom or Teams.
At the sessions, you will hear general information about exchange studies and applying. You can also ask questions about exchange studies and the application process.
