As a doctoral researcher, you can take advantage of international alliances and networks for your studies, research and networking. Below you will find information about UEF’s key partnerships and how to get involved.
Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE)
The YUFE alliance brings together 10 universities across Europe. As a doctoral researcher, you can benefit from the studies, exchange opportunities, networking and volunteering activities offered by the alliance, both online and on site.
How to get involved:
Apply for Student Journey study rights, which are valid for up to two years. During this time, you can freely choose courses and language courses from any of the alliance’s universities. Find out more on the YUFE Alliance page in Kamu.
The YUFE4PostDocs programme (link opens in new tab) offers funding for international post-doctoral research.
Finnish University Partnership for International Development (UniPID)
UniPID (link opens in new tab) is a network of Finnish universities that promotes research and teaching in global sustainable development as well as the societal impact of universities.
As a doctoral researcher, you can benefit from UniPID’s activities in many ways:
- Join the free DocNET network (link opens in new tab), designed for doctoral researchers and supervisors working in the field of global development.
- Take part in DocShop and DocNET events. DocNET may also offer travel support if you live outside the event location.
- Complete multidisciplinary online courses (link opens in new tab).
- Stay up to date on research calls, funding opportunities and academic events.

Southern Africa Nordic Centre (SANORD)
SANORD (link opens in new tab) is a research and education cooperation network comprising 33 universities in Southern Africa and 24 universities in the Nordic countries.
As a doctoral researcher, you can get involved in SANORD’s activities, for example by attending the annual open research conference and webinars.
SANORD events are announced on the UEF Global Development channel on Viva Engage.
