The departments and units of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies award travel grants for study, seminar and conference trips.
Who can apply?
Travel grants are intended for doctoral researchers who do not have an employment relationship with the University of Eastern Finland. This also applies to part-time employment contracts held by grant-funded researchers.
Note: International mobility support for employees: If you are a member of the teaching and research staff of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies and have an employment relationship with the university, you can apply for a special incentive compensation for 1–12 months of research work abroad. Read more about the faculty’s international mobility support on the intranet (UEF login required).
When to apply?
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications are processed within 1–2 months of receipt, excluding the summer holiday period.
How to apply?
Apply using the electronic form (opens in new tab), where you can also find detailed instructions.
Attach the following to your application:
- a report on the progress of your studies in accordance with your personal study plan for doctoral studies, and a schedule for completing any remaining studies
- your supervisor’s endorsement for attending the event (an email is sufficient).
Decisions on grants are made by the head of the department or unit.
