Information security is an essential part of the quality of the university’s operations and services, overall safety, and the daily handling of data at the University of Eastern Finland.
The general goals, objectives, responsibilities and implementation methods of information security at the University of Eastern Finland are defined in the university’s Information Security Policy (login required). These are further specified in additional rules and guidelines on information security. UEF has also prepared a quick guide on information security for students and staff, which is available in Kamu.
Information security is everyone’s responsibility and must be taken into account when using user accounts, handling files, protecting devices and data, using social media and wireless networks, and when working on public computers.
