A staff member diagnosed with COVID-19:
- is ordered into quarantine by the health authorities,
- notifies his or her immediate supervisor of a possible sick leave and quarantine in accordance with the university’s normal procedure (infectious disease allowance from Kela is applied for for the university, since the employee will be paid salary for the time of absence from work), and
- helps the health authorities in contact tracing.
A student or other member of the academic community diagnosed with COVID-19:
- is ordered into quarantine by the health authorities, and
- helps the health authorities in contact tracing.
The health authorities will start contact tracing in collaboration with the person diagnosed with COVID-19, and anyone exposed to COVID-19 will also be ordered into quarantine. The process will be led by the health authorities, and they will also give the university guidelines with regard to, e.g., cleaning of the facilities.
If so requested, the university will assist the health authorities in contact tracing by disclosing lists of people who have been in the same facilities as the person diagnosed with COVID-19. This information must be available from the units and teachers. When necessary, the university’s occupational health and safety organisation will assist in contact tracing and in carrying out any measures determined by the health authorities.
Documents pertaining to the health of a student shall be secret (Act on the Openness of Government Activities, Section 24).
