Coffee & Friends (Finnish: Kaverikahvila) event offers low-threshold hanging out after lectures and the opportunity to meet other students over coffee and a snack. All students (exchange students, degree students, doctoral students) of the University of Eastern Finland are welcome to Coffee & Friends. You can come to the café alone or with a friend. In addition, Coffee & Friends has a changing chill program. Participation in the programme is voluntary and you can come for a while or for the whole time.
The café meets on Tuesdays from 10 September forward at 3-5pm at Lukema in Kuopio and at 4-6pm at Aurora in the AU110 fireplace room in Joensuu. You can get to the fireplace room by walking from between the Aurora buildings to the backyard, turn left and continue walking straight to the end of the backyard. At the end of the road is the front door of the building that you can enter. The same door also leads to Aurora’s gym.
You can find the program from ISYYs webpage (link opens in a new window).
Participation is free of charge and does not require pre-registration.
The program is organized by peer tutors and active members of ISYY’s Coffee & Friends team. The campus chaplain, study psychologists and special education teacher provide background support. We accept development ideas and wishes about the program, contact information can be found below.
A warm welcome to Coffee & Friends!
