Non-degree students cannot become members of the Student Union, which means that they are not entitled to the student benefits. However, the Student Union may choose to allow non-degree students from certain student groups to join the Student Union. Find more information from the article on Student Union membership fees.
After the study right has been granted
When the right to study is granted to you, you will also receive instructions attached to the decision on how to register at the university. If you have already given your information when applying, you might not need to give your information with registration.
Fill in the registration form (opens in a new tab).
The unit arranging the the studies will send registration instructions to the selected students. The faculty delivers the decision on the study right for information to the Student and Learning Services. The study right is recorded in the student register based on the decision.
UEF account
All students will need a UEF account/username for logging into the university network, Peppi and their e-mail. If you have completed your Master’s degree at the University of Eastern Finland, you will continue your studies with your old account. If you do not have an account, you need to activate it on the university’s website using your Finnish online banking codes. If you do not have Finnish online banking codes, contact the IT servicedesk.
See instructions for activating your UEF account (opens in a new tab).
Registration in future academic years
Non-degree students do not need to register at the university annually as only degree students (Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral students) are obligated to register annually. Non-degree students are registered automatically by an officer of the administrative staff.
