What does study progress monitoring mean?
It is a new tool integrated into Peppi that collects information on study progress and presents it in a clear format. With this tool, students and counsellors can monitor progress, identify potential challenges early, and plan solutions.
Fokus is used in student guidance as well as in teaching planning and development. The study progress view shows progress quantitatively (credits), and its forecasts are based on the structure and timing plan of the personal study plan (PSP).
Pilot during the academic year 2025–2026
Study progress monitoring was introduced in autumn 2025 in selected degree programmes and specific student groups as part of the pilot. Students in these groups can monitor their progress in Peppi under the Studies menu. Pilot advisors have been granted access to a new counsellor’s dashboard in Peppi.
The objective of the pilot is to:
- ensure the functionality of the system and the smoothness of wide-scale deployment
- Identify potential technical and operational challenges
- collect user experiences and feedback
- Evaluate the benefits of the system for the development of guidance and teaching
