Kamu – Web service Website
The University of Eastern Finland wishes to guarantee the accessibility of its websites in accordance with the law about digital services (306/2019) (in Finnish). This accessibility statement applies to the website Kamu – databanl at kamu.uef.fi provided by wordpress.com and its subsidiary pages. The website was first published on the 1st November 2017. This site has been updated on September 27, 2021 and accessibility fixes are underway.
This accessibility statement was drawn up on the 14st November 2023.
Status of Accessibility of the Digital Service
The WCAG 2.0 AA level criteria have been acknowledged on the website, and it is estimated that the criteria are mostly conformed to. Accessibility will also be considered in the future when the website is updated, and trainings will be organised for the content providers.
The accessibility has been assessed through self-assessment. All the pages have been assessed with SiteImprover and some additionally with Wave.
Non-accessible Content of the Digital Service
Kamu includes content that is not accounted for in the legislation:
- Content published by users or other outside operators, which is not produced, financed or maintained by the service provider.
- Old news may include links that no longer work.
- Office program files (e.g. doc, pdf) that have been published before the 23rd September 2018.
- Video or audio recordings that have been published before the 23rd September 2020.
Old study guides
The study guides for all degree programmes and academic subjects for the academic years 2010-2021 that include information on curricula, course descriptions and degree structures and were previously published in WebOodi, are available in Kamu under “Curricula of previous years”. The study guides are in PDF format and are not accessible in all respects. As of the academic year 2021–2022, the study guides are available in Peppi. WebOodi has been removed from service.
The study guides of the faculties, departments and units for the academic years 2014–2019 including the faculty’s degree regulations have been published in Kamu under “Study guides 2014 – 2019” (only in Finnish). The study guides are in PDF format and are not accessible in all respects. As of the academic year 2019-2020, study guides are accessible.
Old guides are no longer updated and may contain links from studies that no longer functional.
If the information is not available in an accessible format in the study guides of the faculties, departments and units for the academic years 2010–2021, the unit responsible for teaching must be contacted, in which case the information can be provided in an accessible format where necessary.
Technical Deficiencies
The charto of the results of a study attainment is not accessibility.
The element IDs on some pages are not yet individual (WCAG 2.4.4., 2.4.9., 4.1.2).
There are links with no textual equivalents on two pages (WCAG 4.1.1).
Some of the files on the site are not accessible. As the accessibility criteria is applied to Kamu on 23 September 2020, files that have been published after the 23rd September 2018 but before the 23rd September 2019 are not accounted for by the criteria. Adjustments are still being made.
