Intensive courses, short courses, and summer courses

NORDIC CENTRE AT FUDAN UNIVERSITY, CHINA

The Nordic Centre at Fudan University arranges two summer courses every year: Chinese Politics and Society, and Doing Business in China. The courses are held at Fudan University in Shanghai, China.

The application period for the courses is usually held at the beginning of the spring semester.

The course fee is approximately EUR 100, in addition to which the students are required to cover their own travel, insurance, accommodation, and living costs. University of Eastern Finland usually provides a grant of EUR 800 to those selected for the course.

The course is open to Bachelor’s and Master’s level students of all fields with at least one year of successfully completed studies at University of Eastern Finland. Students who can include the course in their studies and are with little or no experience of China are prioritised. The final decision on the acceptance is made by the Nordic Centre.

NORDIC CENTRE IN INDIA (NCI)

The Nordic Centre in India (NCI) usually organises three different summer courses which are open for application by students of University of Eastern Finland.

”Contemporary India: An Interdisciplinary Introduction Course”, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad

”Human Rights in India ”, National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore

”Approaching the Environment in India: Issues and Methods in the Study of the Nature-Economy-Society Interface ”, Bangalore, The Centre for Ecological Economics and Natural Resources of the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC)

The application period for the courses is usually held at the beginning of the spring semester.

The course fees are EUR 1,000–1,700, which includes the costs of living (accommodation, meals), tuition, course materials, and short excursions. The students are required to cover other costs, such as travel, accommodation, and visas. University of Eastern Finland normally provides a mobility grant of EUR 800 to students selected for the summer courses.

The courses are open to Bachelor’s and Master’s level students of all fields with at least one year of successfully completed studies at University of Eastern Finland. The students who can include the course in their studies and are with little or no experience of India are prioritised. The final decision on the acceptance is made by the Nordic Centre in India.
