Employment contract and SoleMOVE account
If you have had or currently have an employment contract at UEF (traineeship or similar), contact International Mobility Services before applying – your SoleMOVE account may have mistakenly been converted to a staff account. For more information about combining employment and exchange, see the main internationalisation page or the Bulletins in internationalisation page.
Application periods for long-term exchange
September supplementary application period: 1–15 Sept 2026
More detailed information about the September supplementary application period will be published in late August. In this round, you can apply for exchange for one semester (spring semester 2027).
Application period: 1–15 Sept 2026. The application period closes on Tuesday 15 Sept at 3:00 PM sharp (Finnish time).
Good to know:
- Late applications will not be accepted – make sure your application is complete with all attachments and submitted before the deadline.
- We recommend completing and submitting your application at least one day before the deadline to avoid any last-minute issues.
- The exact dates of the exchange period are determined by the host university’s academic calendar. If you are accepted for a semester exchange, you are expected to spend the entire semester as defined by the host university.
- Remember to discuss the suitability of exchange studies for your degree with your departmental coordinator.
Host university choices:
- You can apply to a total of 1–2 exchange programmes or host universities across different programmes. You can be selected for only one exchange programme or host university at a time.
- All available exchange destinations are on the same application form – fill out and submit only one application form, even if you are applying to two different exchange programmes.
Programme-specific calls for applications will be published here before the application period opens.
Submitting your application in SoleMOVE
Applications are submitted in the SoleMOVE system. Log in using HAKA/Shibboleth authentication with your UEF credentials. Instructions for completing the application can be found on the Kamu page SoleMOVE application system.
When starting your application:
- Application type → “Normal student exchange”.
- Mobility type → “Study”.
- Application period → “Application for Student Exchange // Spring 2027”.
Adding host university choices to the application form (Exchange information tab):
- First select the country where the host university is located → then select the host university.
Preliminary study plan:
You should also describe a preliminary study plan for the exchange on your application. The study plan does not need to be added as a separate attachment – you can write it in the field on the Exchange information tab. Research the host university’s course offerings for exchange students – use the current academic year’s course catalogues, as catalogues for the next year are often not yet available.
Attachments:
- Transcript of Records (PDF from Peppi).
- Letter of Motivation (in English, min. length 1 page A4).
Further information about the letter of motivation is available on Kamu’s page General instructions for applying.
Editing your application after submission
You are responsible for ensuring that all information in your application is correct and that the application is submitted on time. You cannot make changes to your application independently after submission.
- Within the first week after submission: you may request small changes (e.g. the order of host university choices) by email at [email protected].
- After one week: no changes will be made to the application.
