University of Eastern Finland is part of the national Tohtori+ agreement, which promotes national co-operation in doctoral education. Through this agreement, doctoral researchers can apply for temporary study rights to attend courses offered by other participating universities and include these studies in their own degree. In addition to the University of Eastern Finland, the agreement includes Aalto University, University of Helsinki, University of Lapland, Hanken School of Economics, University of the Arts Helsinki, University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University.
This temporary study right enables doctoral researchers to participate, for example, in specialized courses that are essential for their research but may not be available at their home university. The agreement supports individualized study paths and strengthens doctoral researcher’s expertise.
All courses under this agreement are free of charge for doctoral researchers.
