Courses for exchange students

PrintInformation on courses for exchange students in 2026-27 in Peppi.
UEF offers a wide range of courses taught entirely in English. These courses are available to incoming exchange students and visiting students on both campuses, Joensuu and Kuopio.
Exchange students may choose courses primarily from their own field of study, but also from related disciplines. In most cases, you may select Master’s-level courses even if you have not yet completed your Bachelor’s degree.
Please note that courses with face-to-face teaching must be selected from one campus only, as the distance between the Joensuu and Kuopio campuses is approximately 150 kilometres (about two hours of travel). Only fully online courses can be completed from another campus.
The recommended study load is 20-30 ECTS per semester but please make sure you will follow the instructions of your home university.
At UEF, pass/fail grading is widely used. Please confirm with your home university if they accept courses with pass/fail grading.
Peppi is UEF’s student and study register. In Peppi, you can:
- plan your studies,
- view your timetable,
- register for courses and exams, and
- track your study progress.
Information on courses offered for exchange students is available in Peppi Study Guide (opens in a new tab). When using Peppi, please ensure that the correct academic year is selected in the upper left corner.
