PrintWhat is a personal access badge?
A personal access badge is an electronic key that gives you access to electronic exam facilities. The badge is provided free of charge to University of Eastern Finland students.
The badge is personal, and you must not give it to another person. When using your badge, do not open the door for others or let anyone else enter with you. Each use of the badge is recorded in a monitoring log.
Why should I get a personal access badge?
With a personal access badge, you can access electronic exam facilities conveniently and take advantage of extended opening hours. You do not need to check in at the Oppari service desk before your exam.
Exam facilities have camera surveillance, and random identity checks are carried out at irregular intervals.

- Natura N112, 1st floor – NOTE: Access through Natura door F.
- In Kuopio:
- Mediteknia 1029, 1st floor – NOTE: Access through Mediteknia entrance 2.
When can I take an electronic exam?
- In Joensuu (Natura) and Kuopio (Mediteknia), you can take electronic exams principally every day between 6:00 a.m. and after midnight until 05:00 a.m..
- Available exam times are always visible in the electronic exam system.
- Kuopio Canthia exam facilities are available during the building’s opening hours (check opening hours).
How do I get a personal access badge?
You can apply for a personal access badge using this form (select the language in the upper right corner). If you already have a badge, you can use the same form to request access rights to an additional space (e.g. electronic exam facilities).
You will receive an email notification when your badge is ready for collection from key services (see location and opening hours) or when the rights on your existing badge have been updated.
If you do not want a personal access badge, you can collect a one-time access badge from the Oppari service desk before your exam. In this case, check Oppari’s service hours.
Does the badge cost anything?
The access badge is free of charge for UEF students.
How long is my badge valid?
Your access badge is valid for the duration of your study right.
What if I lose my access badge?
Report the loss immediately by email to [email protected] (Joensuu) or [email protected] (Kuopio).
As the badge holder, you are liable for any misuse of your badge. A lost badge will be replaced once free of charge. After that, a fee of EUR 50 will be charged for a replacement.
When do I need to return my badge?
Return your badge to key services as soon as you complete your studies or no longer need the badge. A penalty fee of EUR 50 will be charged for badges that are not returned.
