We will invoice borrowing service fees in mid-November. You can pay your overdue and reservation fees yourself on UEF Primo or in person at the library, and we will not send you an invoice. Online payment is available for fees of 1 euro or more.

Due to the pricing update introduced in June, there may be some variation in reservation fees, as customer records may contain charges based on both the old and the new list of service fees.

The Olola lounge area on the 1st floor of the Joensuu Campus Library will be available to customers during the library’s self-service hours from 7.00 a.m. on Monday, 2 November 2026. Please note that you may not take non-borrowed library materials or borrowed reading room copies into the Olola area. More information about the library’s 24/7 facilities is available on the library’s website.

The Joensuu and Kuopio campus libraries are closed on Tuesday, 10 November 2026 due to a Staff Development Day. The library’s 24/7 self-study facilities are open also during exceptional opening hours.

Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Libraries are open on Friday 30 October 2026 8am–2pm, customer service 10am–2pm. On Saturday 31 October 2026 the campus libraries are closed.

The 24/7 self-study facilities of Campus Libraries are open despite these exceptions.

On Friday 25 September, the campuses will host Researchers’ Night from 16 to 20. Ursa’s planetarium will be set up in the Kuopio Campus Library for the event. The setup begins at 14 and may cause some noise. Consequently, the library’s 24/7 facilities will close at 16 on Friday and will reopen for normal use at 7 on Saturday 26 September.

The training introduces the basic functions of the Zotero reference management software and how to use the Zotero Word Plugin.

The trainings will be held on Teams. Registration in advance is not needed. Meeting links can be found below as well as in the library’s event calendar.

The library is also participating in the Sports Afternoon on Wednesday 30 September 2026. Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Libraries are open from 10 am to 12 pm (doors open from 8 am to 12 pm).  Although we hope everyone takes the opportunity to get active, the libraries’ 24/7 self-study facilities will be available for students with an access badge starting from 12:15 pm.

An issue occurred in the 24/7 door programming of the Joensuu Campus Library on Saturday, 5 September. It prevented entry to the library with an access badge on Saturday after the library’s regular opening hours had ended.

We apologize for the inconvenience. The issue has been resolved, and 24/7 access is functioning normally.
