The new version of Peppi supports the implementation of the single study right policy, provides support for study administration of hour-based education, enables seamless curriculum-level cross-institutional study, and includes HED integration for study elements. In addition, the version includes technical maintenance and several smaller improvements across different parts of the Peppi system, for example related to the VIRTA higher education achievement register, cross-institutional studies and the EMREX import of studies. The version also fixes issues in the source code.

The Finnish Institute for Educational Research (FIER) of the University of Jyväskylä examines in its survey the strategic goals of Finnish higher education institution groups and their operational and economic impact.
Welcome to a webinar on Thursday, 5 November, 2026 from 10:00 to 12:00 to hear more.
The survey was carried out as part of the preparations for collaboration between higher education institutions in eastern Finland. Its aim is to produce independent research data on the activities, impact and economic implications of higher education institution groups to support preparations and decision-making.
The webinar will be held in Finnish. Participants can submit comments and questions during the event. A recording will be published of the webinar with English subtitles, and an English summary will be made available of the survey.
The research report, its English summary, and the webinar recording will be published after the event. The version with English subtitles will be published later.

The University of Eastern Finland will participate in the national career monitoring surveys in October 2026. These surveys collect information on graduates’ career paths, employment, and the relevance of university degrees in working life. The surveys are conducted by the Aarresaari Network, a collaboration between Finnish universities.
Career monitoring survey provides valuable information about the types of positions graduates have entered, the skills and competencies their studies have provided for working life, and how university education can be further developed. The results are also used in research and contribute, in part, to the funding of universities.

The Doctoral Career Monitoring Survey is sent to individuals who completed their doctoral degree in 2023. The survey examines, among other things, the career paths, job roles, and career development of doctoral graduates, as well as the relevance of doctoral education in working life.
Every response helps improve university education and research. At the same time, career monitoring survey provides current and prospective students with valuable information about the career paths pursued by graduates from different fields of study.
The Career Monitoring Surveys open on 1 October and close on 9 December 2026. Individuals selected to participate will receive a personal survey link by email and, if necessary, reminder messages during the survey period.
Master’s career tracking results can be explored through the Töissä.fi service and the Finnish National Agency for Education’s statistics service, Vipunen. Results from doctoral career tracking surveys are also available in Vipunen.
Responses will be treated confidentially. The results will be reported in a way that prevents the identification of individual respondents. The data may be shared for research and development purposes without any directly identifiable personal information.

During this course, you will learn to reflect on, identify and describe your competence from the perspective of Finnish working life. You will also learn the values of both generic and field-specific skills when identifying and communicating about your competences. After completing the course, you can understand different rules and practices of working life and feel more confident to enter in the Finnish labour market. The course also equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for the Future Talents Team Project course 3 ECTS. To enroll in the Future Talents Team Project course, you must first successfully complete this course.
The study materials are available in the Digikampus learning environment. To pass the course you need to complete the required assignments and participate in compulsory training sessions. Please check the course schedule from the Peppi. Active participation and interaction with other students are an essential part of the learning process.
The course has been designed and implemented in cooperation with the Karelia and Savonia Universities of Applied Sciences and University of Eastern Finland. The course is part of the Talent Hub Eastern Finland project. The project is co-funded by the European Union

On Friday 25 September, the campuses will host Researchers’ Night from 16 to 20. Ursa’s planetarium will be set up in the Kuopio Campus Library for the event. The setup begins at 14 and may cause some noise. Consequently, the library’s 24/7 facilities will close at 16 on Friday and will reopen for normal use at 7 on Saturday 26 September.
