We will move the Joensuu Campus Library collections on the second floor at the turn of May and June
We will move the Joensuu Campus Library collections from hall 2B to hall 2A at the turn of May and June. The estimated duration of the work is 25 May – 5 June 2026. The materials will remain available throughout the move. However, signage may be temporarily outdated or incomplete. If you cannot find the book you are looking for, please ask the staff for assistance.
During the move, staff will be moving heavy book carts in both halls. Please exercise caution when walking through these areas and follow the signs provided.
The move may cause noise and other disturbances, especially in library halls 2A and 2B. Quieter workspaces and group work rooms are available on the third floor.
Personal storage lockers at the Joensuu Campus Library temporarily out of use for the summer
Joensuu Campus Library has storage lockers, and it has been possible to make a separate fixed-term agreement with the library for their use. The current storage locker agreements will expire by the end of May, after which the lockers will be temporarily out of use.
We will carry out maintenance work on the storage lockers during the summer, and the aim is to have them available again at the start of the autumn semester. It is not possible to reserve a previously used locker in advance. We will provide a separate update when you can once again make a storage locker agreement.
We would also like to remind you that there are storage lockers managed by the university’s Facilities Services in the connecting corridor leading to the Joensuu Campus Library and inside the library next to the exam rooms. These lockers are intended for short-term storage of belongings. They are used by creating a temporary four-digit code. The lockers open automatically nine hours after activation, so please remember to empty them before the time limit.

Changes to the Library’s Service Price List as of 1 June 2026
In the new list of service fees, there are no longer separate interlibrary loan fees for the National Repository Library; instead, the National Repository Library is treated the same as domestic and Nordic libraries. Among the borrowing service fees, the charge for an uncollected reservation will increase to two euros, but the so‑called shelf‑pickup fee will be discontinued, and all reservations will remain free of charge for the time being. You can find the full list of service fees on the library’s website.

Survey on Citizen Science at UEF
Have you ever asked people to submit insects as research material, recorded dialect for researchers, or engaged in co-research in everyday life? Are you interested in this type of citizen science, or are you already experienced in it?

The survey is intended for all UEF teachers, researchers, students, and other staff. You can respond even if citizen science is not familiar to you. Participation is voluntary, and all perspectives are valuable. The responses will be used in planning new services.
