The trainings will be held on Teams. Registration in advance is not needed. Meeting links can be found below as well as in the library’s event calendar.

The library is also participating in the Sports Afternoon on Wednesday 30 September 2026. Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Libraries are open from 10 am to 12 pm (doors open from 8 am to 12 pm). Although we hope everyone takes the opportunity to get active, the libraries’ 24/7 self-study facilities will be available for students with an access badge starting from 12:15 pm.
Annually recurring mentoring program helps students get to know Finnish working life and build their networks. Mentors are individual professionals and employer organisations from several different professional fields. Mentoring is carried out in small groups. The mentoring language will be English.

Also, the mentors can get new energy and fresh perspectives to their work through students. Your mentor may also act as a referee in your future job hunt. Application for group mentoring program is open until 30.9.2026. Students and other talents affiliated in Eastern Finland are eligible to apply.
In group mentoring programme you need to be ready actively plan your future and share your career aims in a group. In addition, you commit to take part in mentoring meetings from November to May approximately once a month.

Is it difficult to begin or finish assignments? Are you stuck with writing your master’s or bachelor’s thesis? Do you need support in managing your studies or everyday life?
UEF Student counselling and wellbeing services arranges the Focus on Studies Group for students in the autumn semester 2026. The group offers easily accessible support in tackling challenges in studying or everyday life for international bachelor’s or master’s degree students. The group is based on solution-oriented guidance and peer support. The leader of the group is trained to accommodate and support participants with possible neuropsychiatric challenges (e.g., ADHD, ADD, ASD and OCD). Participants, however, do not need a diagnosis or a referral, one’s own experience of difficulties is enough. Neuropsychiatric challenges can cause, for example, learning difficulties, challenges in attaching oneself to studies or work and problems in social interaction.
The group meets in Zoom on Mondays at 14–16 on the following days: 5.10., 12.10., 19.10., 26.10. and 2.11. The group admits a maximum of 6 students.
An issue occurred in the 24/7 door programming of the Joensuu Campus Library on Saturday, 5 September. It prevented entry to the library with an access badge on Saturday after the library’s regular opening hours had ended.
We apologize for the inconvenience. The issue has been resolved, and 24/7 access is functioning normally.
The Pop-up stand will be in Joensuu, at Carelia’s lobby (close to the library), between 12 and 2PM. In addition to Career Services, you can chat with International Mobility Services and a EURES expert!

Changes to group study rooms from 1 September 2026
We would like to remind you that Joensuu Campus Library has two types of group study rooms:
Use of room CK216, located at the far end of the stair landing on the library’s 2nd floor, will be expanded to include 24/7 access outside the library’s opening hours. The room will be emptied when the library closes and will be available for booking by 24/7 users after a 15-minute clearing period. During 24/7 hours, the room may be used by customers who have booked it and who have the library’s 24/7 access badge. The 24/7 self-study facilities are only for UEF students and staff. An access badge can be applied for using a separate form.
Room CK245, located on the library’s 2nd floor at the hall 2A, will be changed from a group study room into a self-study space for several people. The room has 12 individual workspaces, which are easiest to book using the Tuudo app via the QR code on the room door. This room cannot be used during 24/7 hours, as the halls on the 2nd and 3rd floors are not part of the library’s 24/7 area.
The 3B3 group study room, located at the far end of the stair landing on the library’s 3rd floor, will be opened for 24/7 use. The room cannot be booked in advance.
The changes concerning group study rooms will take effect on 1 September 2026.
Personal storage lockers available again from 7 September 2026
Maintenance of the personal storage lockers at Joensuu Campus Library is nearly complete. The lockers will be taken back into use on Monday, 7 September 2026, and locker agreements can be made at the library’s customer service desk during service hours from that date onwards. We cannot guarantee that customers will be able to keep the same locker they previously used.
From now on, personal storage lockers are intended for students and staff of the University of Eastern Finland. The other storage lockers intended for temporary use in the library premises will continue to be available to all customers.

There is still time to apply for exchange for Spring 2027!
The September supplementary application for exchange studies during spring semester 2027 will be open 1-15 Sept, ending on Tuesday, 15 Sept, at 3:00 PM (Finnish time). During this application period, you can only apply for exchanges that take place during spring semester 2027, so you cannot apply for exchanges during AY 2027-28 yet.

Applications should be submitted in the SoleMove system. As attachments, you will need your transcript (PDF from Peppi) and a motivation letter (in English, 1-2 A4 pages). You should also describe your preliminary study plan for the exchange in the application, so make sure you check the host university’s course catalogues before making your application.
