JobTeaser is an easy-to use career portal in which you sign in with your UEF credentials. The first time you sign in you need to create a profile.
In your profile, you can add a short description of yourself, your social media accounts, information about work experience and education as well as enter your language skills, including competency levels.
Once signed up, you can edit your profile and search criteria anytime by clicking the pen icon.
Important! In order to see job advertisements from Finnish organizations, you must select the "Course" STUDENTS AND ALUMNI.
Your interest in job offers. If you want to activate the function "Open job offers", you must also upload your CV to the service. Currently, only companies with a certain type of partnership with JobTeaser can send you job offers to your e-mail if you match their search criteria. The University of Eastern Finland does not currently have any partners in the service that could access students’ data. Other students/alumni do not have access to your profile or cv.
Making your profile public or uploading your CV may be helpful if you are applying for jobs directly in JobTeaser or attending events organized on the JobTeaser platform.
How to optimise your job search? (video, 1:45, opens in new tab)
My criteria (Edit my criteria) in the Dashboard view
The search criteria define what you see on your dashboard. It is better not to choose that many criteria so that you won't miss relevant job offers.
You can define the type of work, required experience, duration of employment relationship, location (do not use regions, they are not hierarchically connected to towns, for example, North Karelia does not contain the municipalities in North Karelia), your expectations regarding remote work etc. You can also add your own keywords.
Job category: The job categories are not ideal for multidisciplinary universities. Rather choose several categories instead of just one. Or, choose none. You can always edit your search criteria.
If the industry of the offered position does not matter to you, you can leave that field empty. The selection might restrict the opportunities that are offered to you too much. For example, there is administration, computing, HR, communications and marketing in all industries.
Email alerts about open positions are not recommended. Job ads by Finnish companies and organizations will not be listed at the moment.
Languages: You will make two language choices. First, you define the language version of the system. Second, you can choose the languages of the content, i.e, job advertisements, events etc. in JobTeaser. If you want to see content published in all languages, leave the second language option blank.
You can also follow companies. The positions, news and events of companies you follow will be appear on your dashboard.
In the Jobs view, you can see positions that match your criteria. In this view, you can also edit your criteria and see positions with tags that Finnish universities have defined in the service. Again, test which criteria shows you relevant ads. Recommendation: test with 1. no other criteria than language and/or country and 2. with all imaginable criteria that might yield relevant results.
The choice of languages seems to limit quite well the offer. In the list of languages, you will also get a picture of where JobTeaser is used. The number in the brackets shows the number of ads marked as being in that language, i.e., the publisher of the ad has ticked, for example, English, as the language of the ad. (They cannot choose more than one.)
The filter "Exclusive to our students and alumni" located in the box "Jobs for University of Eastern Finland" on the right filters the job ads published via the multiposting form for 9 Finnish Universities. That is, Finnish ads tend to be found via this filter.
Location: Use country, city or town. Do not use regions or counties, because they do not contain cities or or towns inside the regions. The hierarchy is not in effect at that level. Towns/municipalities, on the other hand, seem to be heirarchically included in countries.
Applying for jobs: see employers’ instructions for applying. If the employer receives applications via e-mail, you can either use the CV you have uploaded to JobTeaser or upload a CV from your computer that you have tailored for the position (recommended).
About to graduate? Seeking a job?
To see the vacancies after graduating, change your primary, UEF-email address to your private email address in the JobTeaser account settings before the UEF credentials expire, i.e., before graduation. You can then sign in the JobTeaser service through the following link: https://uef.jobteaser.com/en/users/sign_in (copy to browser). You will the find the account settings in the JobTeaser dashboard top right corner hexagon. NB! If your UEF password contains Nordic letters, i.e., å, ä or ö, it may not function in the JobTeaser sign-in. Change it first in the UEF system and then try again.

JobTeaser provides content related to career palnning and job seeking. You can access this material in the Advice view. However, the material can be useful especially if you are looking for employment in Central Europe.
Companies and organizations can use profiles to present their own corporate culture and recruitment needs. You can acquaint yourself with the companies of your choice and follow them. As of now, there are very few Finnish organizations present in the service, but their number will grow as the service is used.
