After the public examination, the opponent gives the faculty a written statement about the dissertation, and you have the opportunity to submit a rejoinder to the opponent’s statement if you are not satisfied with the evaluation. The faculty approves or rejects the doctoral dissertation and decides on the grade.
Applying for a Doctoral Degree
You can apply for the degree with the online form Application for Doctor’s degree after the public examination. NB! All other studies included in your personal study plan must have been completed before the degree is recorded in the study attainment register.
Delivery for the certificate usually takes about 3 weeks from the date the last study unit or module was recorded in the study register. NB! During holidays and busy periods, such as at the end of the calendar or academic years, the time of delivery may be longer than mentioned above.
