UEF degree students may apply and participate in summer courses organised by Nordic Centre courses in China and India. More information about both below.
Students must be registered as “present” in a degree programme at UEF throughout the exchange period. It is not permitted to graduate during the exchange and studies completed during the exchange must be included into degree studies at UEF.
Nordic Centre at Fudan University, China
Governing the Digital State: Public Policy and Social Governance in the 21st Century 6-17 July, 2026
Course is organized as a part of Fudan University’s Institute for Global Public Policy’s International Summer School (new tab). UEF students may apply for the course through the Nordic Centre.

Applying
Deadline: Monday, 27 April 2026.
In order to apply for the course, send the following materials to Marika Oksanen at UEF’s International Mobility Services by Monday, 27 April 2026:
- Copy of your passport’s ID page
- Passport-format photo
- CV
- Transcript of records (use Peppi’s Atomi service to download an electronically verified transcript in English)
- Language proficiency proof
- Application form: download the form from Fudan’s website (new tab) and submit the filled in form along with the other documents
NB! Fudan’s website lists the application deadline for Session 1 courses to be 3 July. This does NOT concern UEF’s students. UEF students’ application deadline is 27 April 2026, so the application can be submitted to the Nordic Centre in time.

Students who have been accepted to the course will be eligible to apply for the UEF mobility grant for short-term exchanges. Grant application is submitted in the SoleMOVE system. Grant applications may be submitted after the student has received acceptance to the course.
Business and Innovation in China 10-24 July, 2026
The Nordic Centre at Fudan University is organizing a summer course in July, Business and Innovation in China. The course is held at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. The course dates are July 10-24, 2026.
UEF has been allocated three (3) course places for summer 2026.
The course fee is approx. EUR 140. The students are required to cover their own travel, insurance, accommodation, and living costs. Students who are selected to the course are eligible to apply for the UEF mobility grant for short-term courses outside of Europe.
The course is designed for Master’s level students of all fields, but graduating Bachelor students may also be enrolled. Students who can include the course in their studies and have little or no experience of China are prioritised. The final decision on the acceptance is made by the Nordic Centre.

Applying
Each member university is allocated three (3) places for the course. Selections are done on a first come, first served, basis. First three eligible candidates will be selected to the course.

If you wish to apply for this course, send an email application to Marika Oksanen ([email protected]) at International Mobility Services by 1 March 2026. In your message, please include a brief motivation letter (max. 300 words), where you can describe e.g. why you wish to participate in the course and how joining the course would benefit your studies at UEF.
Master’s degree students are prioritised for this course, but bachelor’s students who are close to graduating may also be selected. NB! The student must be registered as “present” in a UEF degree programme throughout the course in order to participate. Students cannot participate after graduating.
Selected candidates will be sent a separate application form from International Mobility Services. The application deadline is March 7th, 15:00 (3 PM). International Mobility Services will forward the application form to Nordic Centre for final selection. NB! Nordic Centre will make the final selection of participants based on the application. UEF selection is preliminary, pending on Nordic Centre acceptance. Admissions will be confirmed by March 31st.

Nordic Centre in India (NCI)
The Nordic Centre in India (NCI) usually organises 3-4 summer courses in different cities in India. Information about course offerings for 2026 is available on NCI’s website (new tab).
The course fees are EUR 1,000–1,700, and they include the costs of living (accommodation, meals), tuition, course materials, and short excursions. The students are required to cover other costs, such as travel, accommodation, and visas themselves. University of Eastern Finland provides a mobility grant to its students selected for the summer courses. Grant applications for 2026 summer courses should be submitted by 29 May 2026.
