Theses can now be found at UEF Primo

Information about UEF’s theses has been added to the library’s search service.

You can search for theses at UEF Primo by author, title and subject. Index terms will be added to the latest theses, in order to improve results.

UEF’s theses can also be found in the national Finna, as well as the theses of other universities.

The works themselves are in eRepo. Searches in eRepo’s own interface offer more options, for example you can limit your search only to master’s theses. In addition, eRepo searches the full texts as well.

The Library is invoicing borrowing fees in mid-November

We are invoicing unpaid borrowing service fees in mid-November. By paying all the unpaid fees before that, you can avoid the invoicing. Web payment is a quick and easy way to pay the overdue and reservation fees online.
Log in to UEF Primo. From your account, select Fines. You can make an online payment if the amount of fees is at least three euro.
After payment, return to your own records in the library system, the paid fees will be deleted from your records immediately. Online payment is not possible during UEF Primo’s short service breaks.
You can also pay the fees at the Joensuu and Kuopio campus libraries’ customer service with a debit/credit card. Payment is not possible in the KUH Medical Library, because there is no cash service.

MOT Dictionaries will be run down at the end of 2021. Use the service ‘MOT Kielipalvelu’ instead.

The old service ‘MOT Sanakirjasto’ (i.e. MOT Dictionaries) will completely run down at the end of an ongoing year. You already have the access to its substitute called ‘MOT Kielipalvelu’. This service on the Sanakirja.fi platform includes tools familiar from the old MOT.

In addition to dozens of dictionaries, ‘MOT Kielipalvelu’ contains MOT Translator (translations between 40 languages) as well as MOT Proofing (proofreading and spell checker of English, Finnish, Swedish, German and French).  Learn more about the contents of the service.

How can I access the ‘MOT Kielipalvelu’?

Students and staff members can request a login link to the service for remote access as follows (video instructions also available):

  1. Navigate to sanakirja.fi/korkeakouluille?lang=en.
  2. Choose your organisation from the list and enter the email address you use in your organisation, then click “Get a login link”.
  3. Click the link in the email you receive.
  4. Set a password for your account so you will be able to login to the service with all your devices – whenever and wherever.

When you are logged in to your account, the service can be accessed from sanakirja.fi.  Within the university network, you can access the service without logging in.

NB! A Teams webinar on using ‘MOT Kielipalvelu’ will be held in November. Please, follow the Yammer group ‘UEF Library’ in order to get more detailed information on webinar.
