We are invoicing unpaid overdue and reservation fees at the beginning of November. We send the bills by e-mail. You can avoid the invoicing by paying your fees in advance on UEF Primo or at Joensuu or Kuopio campus library. The minimum limit for online payment is 1 euro; a payment card is accepted on the spot. All Saints’ Day opening hours in the library
Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Libraries are open on Friday 31st October 2025 8am–1pm, customer service 10am–1pm. On Saturday 1st November 2025 the libraries are closed.
The 24/7 self-study facilities of Campus Libraries are open despite these exceptions.
Creating a new library card on Tuudo is not possible from 15th to 16th October 2025
Creating a new library card i.e. registering as a library customer is not possible on Tuudo mobile app from Wednesday 15th to Thursday 16th October 2025. The reason for the service interruption is the installation of Peppi version 5.3. During that time, please use the registration form.

Library Closed on Sports Afternoon
The library enjoys Sports Afternoon on Wednesday 1 October 2025. Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Libraries are open from 10 am to 12 pm (doors open from 8 am to 12 noon) and KUH Medical Library from 11 am to 12 noon. Library’s 24/7 self-study facilities are available with an access badge also on the Sports Afternoon starting from 12.15.
Library opening hours in the autumn term
Library offices will move to the opening hours of the autumn term on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Library facilities are open between 8–18 on weekdays and 10–14 on Saturdays. The first hours of weekday mornings are self-service hours. From Monday to Saturday customer service starts at 10 a.m.
Please note that KUH Medical Library will open on business days later than usual. The Medical Library is open between 13–17 on Mondays and between 11–15 from Tuesday to Thursday.
24/7 Self-study facilities are open normally for the rest of the year, also during holidays.

Data management for undergraduate students online course
Starting your thesis, advanced studies project, or diploma work?
Do you know what research data is and what good data management looks like? How about keeping track of, organizing, or storing your research data in a way that makes it easy for others to use the data? How should you name your files?
Help with all of this is available through the online course Data management for undergraduate students (1 ECTS credit), which you can complete at your own pace throughout the academic year. Learning good data management practices will not only support your thesis work but also benefit you in your future career.

Three trainings with the same content about the Zotero reference management software
Each training introduces the basic functions of the Zotero reference management software and how to use the Zotero Word Plugin. The trainings will be held on Teams. Dates, times and event links below. Registration in advance is not needed.
Before the training session, if you wish, you can install Zotero on your computer. See library’s instructions. After that you can already start using Zotero.

National Repository Library services available again
The relocation of the National Repository Library to its new premises has been completed. You can once again request materials from the National Repository Library through our Interlibrary Services.
Please note that materials borrowed from the National Repository Library before the closure were renewed with an extended loan period to cover the closure. As usual, we will send a separate reminder message to our customers when the borrowed interlibrary materials are due.

Outages on UEF Primo, self-service lending and returning, and some of Tuudo’s operations 12.–13.7.
UEF Primo and the library system Alma have a downtime from Sat 12 July to Sun 13 July. During the break, UEF Primo is completely out of service. In addition, self-check machines are also out of use, and borrowing or returning is not possible during the library’s self-service hours. In Tuudo, the downtime affects the renewal of loans and the registration of new customers.
Floor waxing will affect the use of Joensuu Campus Library on the morning of 28 June 2025
SOL Services will be performing floor waxing of the 1st floor of the Joensuu Campus Library on Saturday 28 June 2025, starting at 4:00 AM. The estimated duration of the work is until 10:00 AM. During the waxing, there may be noise and odor disturbances. Certain areas on the 1st floor of the library will need to be off limits to walking during the drying time of the waxed surface.
