Library opening hours in autumn term

Library offices will move to the opening hours of the autumn term on Monday, August 28, 2023.

Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Library facilities are open between 8–18 on weekdays and 10–14 on Saturdays. The first hours of weekday mornings are self-service hours and customer service starts every day at 10 a.m.

KUH Medical Library is open between 12–17 on Mondays and between 10–15 from Tuesday to Thursday.

24/7 Self-study facilities are open normally for the rest of the year, also during holidays.

Maintenance work at Joensuu Campus Library starting from 14 August 2023

Maintenance work will be carried out at Joensuu Campus Library and in its immediate vicinity, starting on 14 August 2023. Work will begin at that time in front of Olola lounge area, where it will take about two weeks. Olola can be used normally, but only one of the doors leading from the Carelia building lobby to the corridor is in use during that time.

In the week beginning 21 August, maintenance work will be carried out in our Liukula and Avola storage rooms for approximately two weeks. In Liukula only one shelf space is out of use, whereas Avola is completely closed for customer use at the time. Please remember to borrow the material you need before work begins.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the work.

Change to the announcement: maintenance work begins earlier for Liukula and Avola storage rooms. Work on these facilities will begin on 16 August 2023 and will take approximately two weeks. In Liukula only one shelf space is out of use, whereas Avola is completely closed for customer use at the time.

Joensuu Campus Library’s 24/7 self-service facilities are closed on Mon 24th July 2023 starting from 16.30 due to a power outage. The self-service facilities can be used normally on Tuesday from 7. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Kuopio Campus Library’s customer service closed on Wed 19th July 2023 until 12 noon

Kuopio Campus Library’s customer service is closed on Wednesday 19th July 2023 at 12 noon due to a power outage. The power outage will last from 7 am to 12 noon. During the outage, you can use the library facilities. Please note: e.g. customer computers and UEF Primo computers are out of use.

On Thursday 22.6.2023 Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Libraries are open 8-13 and KUH Medical Library 10-13. Customer service is open at all library offices 10-13.

On Friday 23.6.2023 all the library offices are closed.

Library 24/7 -facilities are open during Midsummer.

It consists of selected blog posts from the year 2022 describing our activities, and of an editorial that draws them together. The statistics section and lists of library staff, publications, expert assignments, and participation in conferences are included.

In late March Joensuu Campus Library introduced Sound Zones to better facilitate various types of activities carried out in the library, as well as to help the customers in selecting an appropriate location for different levels of noise.

Now the library would like to hear your initial response to the introduction of the Sound Zones, as well as gather feedback for future improvements. The questionnaire is open until Sunday 21st of May 2023.
