Student Barometer collects information on studies and student life – participate to the survey until 9.3.2022!

Student Barometer is a survey aimed at students in higher education. Its purpose is to collect information on students’ experiences and opinions of their studies, student life, and everyday life. Student Barometer is repeated data collection carried out by the Research Foundation for Studies and Education Otus sr.

Information produced by Student Barometer is used in work to develop student wellbeing, student activities, the quality of teaching, higher education internships, studies and reports on working life and living, and educational institutions. Participation in the study is voluntary. By responding to the survey, you are participating in discussions about topics that affect student life!

The survey will open on 9.2.2022 at the address https://link.webropol.com/s/ob2022. The survey will be open until 9.3.2022. Responding to the survey takes around 30–45 minutes. Students respond to the survey anonymously and their data will not be combined with data from other sources. You can respond to the survey in Finnish, Swedish, or English. Verkkokauppa.com gift cards will be available to win in a prize draw open to all participants.

The basic results of Student Barometer will be published in 2022 as an open Power BI database. Various reports on different topics will also be published. The collected data will be used for research purposes, for various reports, and, for example, to support public discussion and decision-making. Results will be published in such a way that it will not be possible to identify an individual respondent.

Calls for application for outgoing student exchange!

The February application period for outgoing student exchange is open!

The application period ends on Tuesday 15th February at 3:00 PM (15:00).

Please note that your application must be submitted by the deadline. Late applications will not be accepted, so please make sure to send in your application on time!

During this application period, students can apply for Erasmus+ and Nordplus exchanges, as well as bilateral exchange. For more information on available placements and exchange programmes, please see the Study Abroad section on Kamu and the page Calls for applications for student exchange.

Students can apply for 1-2 exchange placements. If you wish to apply for two different exchange programmes, you will need to submit two applications. In this case, you can use the same attachments for both applications. You must indicate clearly in your application which placement is your first priority.

The application is compiled and submitted in the SoleMOVE system. For instructions on how to compile the application and the link to the system, please see Kamu.

The required attachments to the application are an up-to-date transcript of records (from Peppi) and a letter of motivation. For more information about applying in general, please see Kamu.

University of Eastern Finland eases its restrictions on gatherings

The University of Eastern Finland will increase the number of people allowed to attend lectures, exams and public examinations of doctoral dissertations to 100 people at a time. The new restriction is based on the decision of the Regional State Administrative Agency for Eastern Finland to ease restrictions on public events.

The decision is in effect from 2 to 20 February 2022. 

People attending in-person teaching are required to wear a mask.

Query on the use of reference management tools

Library maps the use of various reference management tools, desires and the need for support in the future. The query is anonymous. The results of the survey will be used to support potential procurement decisions and in designing support for reference management tools.
