50-person limit on gatherings lifted, physical distancing and hygiene guidelines must still be followed

The Regional State Administrative Agency for Eastern Finland decided on 17 May 2021 to ease restrictions on gatherings. Public events and general meetings organised indoors and in limited spaces outdoors may have more than 50 people attending, provided that their safety can be ensured. In practice, this means strict adherence to the physical distancing (2 metres) and hygiene guidelines.

The order is in effect from 18 May 2021 to 17 June 2021 and it is applied to both Joensuu and Kuopio. Information about the University of Eastern Finland’s auditoriums and lecture rooms, and their capacities, is available from tilavaraus-joensuu@uef.fi and tilavaraus-kuopio@uef.fi

Limit on gathering increases to 50 people on both campuses starting on 3 May 2021

The Regional State Administrative Agency for Eastern Finland has changed its order given on 19 April 2021, which prohibited gatherings of more than 20 people in the North Karelia and North Savo regions until 22 May 2021. According to the new order, the limit on gatherings is increased to 50 people starting on 3 May 2021. The order is in effect from 3 May 2021 to 31 May 2021.

The University of Eastern Finland follows the orders given by the Regional State Administrative Agency: between 3 and 31 May 2021 all teaching and events on both campuses must be organised so that no more than 50 people at a time are present in the same room. All guidelines relating to health and safety must still be followed.

Student Well-being services at TUUDO!

The student well-being services are now included in the TUUDO application in English and Finnish.

TUUDO is a non-mandatory, mobile application that supports you in your studies. You can register in TUUDO with your UEF username and password. TUUDO compiles your most often used, study-related services into a portable user interface.

In the new WELL-BEING menu, you can find information not only about health and well-being services for UEF students but also content for all students in Finland produced by Nyyti ry, a national organization for the promotion of students’ mental health and ability to study. The content of the new section is, in practice, equivalent to the pages “Student life and well-being” and “Providers of Help” in KAMU. Now you can access this information easily thorough your mobile phone whenever you need it.

It is also possible to give feedback through the well-being menu.
