Recent delays with IT systems of the University of Eastern Finland

The University of Eastern Finland’s new user account and email address creation has suffered from delays that has caused issues with logging in to the systems. User access rights management has also suffered from these delays.

The issues have been especially visible for new students of Spring 2022. Other students may also have had login issues with Peppi or email.

The causes for the issues have been found and corrections are being made. The situation should improve during this week.

In addition, opiskelu@uef.fi email has been detected with a fault, that has caused a delay in the handling of the requests sent. The fault has been fixed and the queue is being processed as quick as possible.

One week left in the application period for outgoing student exchange!

The application period for bilateral and ISEP exchange during academic year 2022-2023 is open! The application period ends on November 15 at 3 pm – late applications will not be accepted, so please make sure you submit your application in time!

We recommend that you start your application well before the deadline!

Exchange infosession today 3-4pm!

International Mobility Services organises an info session on student exchange that is open to all UEF students on Thursday, 4 November 2021 from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. (15.00-16.00) via Zoom (link available here). During the info session, we will talk about the basics of student exchange and student exchange options available in the calls for applications that are open in November 1-15. You can also send in your questions via Padlet here!

NB! The info session will be held in Finnish. If you can follow a presentation in Finnish, welcome to the info session! You can ask questions in English in the chat box. UEF´s big band RytmiHäiriköt feat. Mikael Konttinen: Feeling Love, Michael Bublé tribute concert. University big band RytmiHäiriköt welcomes you to enjoy the music by the skilled Canadian jazz, swing and pop singer Michael Bublé on Sunday 7th November at 5 pm. Finland’s own Michael, brilliant Mikael Konttinen will dazzle you with his signing, backed up by the 20-odd players on stage. Duration of the concert: 2 hours. Tickets: 20/10 €.

Calls for applications for outgoing student exchange have been posted!

This year’s first application period for outgoing exchanges during the academic year 2022-2023 opens on 1 November 2021. The application period closes on 15 November 2021 at 3 pm.

During this application period, all Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students of the University of Eastern Finland may apply for exchange during the autumn semester 2022, spring semester 2023, or the academic year 2022-2023. In this application period, you may apply for bilateral exchange or ISEP exchange.

Exposure to the coronavirus has been possible in Futura’s restaurant in Joensuu on Wednesday, 20 October 2021, at 12.00–12.30. Exposure to the coronavirus has also been possible in Carelia’s restaurant in Joensuu on Thursday, 21 October 2021, at 12.00–12.30.

It is recommended that anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, even mild ones, get tested.
